At West Florida Dog Training, our Board and Train program is meticulously tailored to meet your unique needs and goals with your dog. Whether you're seeking to enhance your dog's obedience and responsiveness or you're facing specific behavioral challenges that have evolved over time, our program is designed to address your specific requirements.
Our training environment is crafted to foster a desire for learning in your dog. We employ methods that make training an enjoyable and interactive experience, effectively stimulating your dog both mentally and physically. This approach taps into their natural pack instincts and hunting drives, keeping them fully engaged and eager to learn. As we train your dog amidst various distractions, we ensure that they not only learn new behaviors through consistent, reward-based repetitions but also understand the importance of adhering to these behaviors even without immediate rewards and in distracting environments. Our goal is to achieve reliable obedience, ensuring your dog follows commands consistently, regardless of the circumstances.
At West Florida Dog Training, we ensure that your dog is not excessively confined. Our approach includes a balanced routine with ample time for exercise, play, and relaxation. Kennel or crate time is used responsibly to provide your dog with a safe, personal space for rest and decompression.
Owners KC and Rick believe in personalized attention, which is why we accept only 2 dogs at any given time. This approach ensures that each dog receives dedicated time with their trainer for optimal learning and care.
When a dog correctly follows a command or exhibits desired behavior, we reward them with something they value, such as treats, praise, or a playful game. This positive reinforcement approach is central to our training philosophy.
If a dog does not respond as expected, we withhold the reward or the desired outcome. This method teaches the dog to understand and work towards the behaviors that bring them positive outcomes.
Yes, we require all dogs in our care to have up-to-date vaccinations and a negative fecal test. This policy is essential to ensure the health and safety of all the dogs in our program.
We understand the importance of staying connected with your dog's progress. That's why we provide video updates. Additionally, KC, Rick, and our team are always available for any questions, issues, or emergencies, ensuring you're informed and at ease throughout the training process.

I recently enlisted the help of West Florida Dog Training for my King Charles Cavalier, Pickles, and the experience has been nothing short of transformative. As an elderly owner, I needed a training approach that could accommodate both Pickles' and my needs. Previously, every time the doorbell rang, Pickles would become uncontrollably excited, but now, thanks to the training, he calmly goes to his designated place and sits quietly.
The empathy and professionalism shown by KC and Rick, the trainers, were remarkable. They not only trained Pickles but also ensured that I could continue the practices at home. The peace and order that have been restored in our home have been a blessing, and I can't thank West Florida Dog Training enough for the newfound harmony between Pickles and me.

At our facility, we prioritize a personalized and attentive approach to dog training. We limit our training to a maximum of two dogs at a time, ensuring each receives the individual attention and care they deserve. Our approach is to integrate these dogs into our family, treating them with the same affection and consideration we give our own pets. This philosophy not only fosters a nurturing and enjoyable training atmosphere but also ensures that each dog benefits from a comfortable and engaging learning environment.
